I came, I saw, I plonkered

Having played electric, acoustic and classical guitar for over thirty years, as well as having taught, worked as a session player and performed over a thousand gigs to literally tens of dedicated fans around the erm.....globe, I now feel qualified to pass on my expert analysis as a man-for-all-seasons guitar guru (Oi - stop laughing at the back!).

As a doyen of the West Lothian music scene [citation needed], I've reached a point where I feel comfortable with the (totally deserved) tag of 'guitar hero'. While I've been happy touring all over Scotland with umpteen bands and leaving audiences stunned and amazed (yes, I did say stunned AND amazed) by my searing solos, it's good to put something back into the music community at large in the form of tuition and the search for the Next Big Thing.

Hendo leaves another audience stunned and amazed at a recent gig.

No, really, they were stunned AND amazed - honest, Guv.

'Scott Hendrie may not be the best guitarist in the world, but he's certainly among the top two'

My own influences as a guitar player are pretty extensive and eclectic - from David Gilmour through Steve Howe, John Goodsall, Edward Van Halen, Michael Lee Firkins, Tinsley Ellis, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Beck, Robben Ford, Carl Verheyen, Richie Kotzen, Trevor Rabin, Steve Hillage, Buddy Guy, Chet Atkins, John Renbourn, John Williams, Julian Bream and about a thousand others.

So, if you would like to start learning to play or you're stuck in a rut that you want to get out of, feel free to send me an Email (my address is on the 'Links Page').
